Bowsers were engaged to deliver passive fire protection for the 100,000sqm Kmart Fulfilment Centre at ESR’s Moorebank Intermodel Precinct. This project continues a strong history of repeat work between Bowsers and Richard Crookes Construction, reflecting their confidence in our specialist passive fire protection expertise and quality of delivery.
The scope of works included the application of CAFCO 300 Vermiculite Fire Spray to structural steel columns supporting precast concrete panels, achieving the required Fire Resistance Level (FRL) of 240/-/-.
Bowsers carefully coordinated the works with Richard Crookes Construction and other trades, using extensive masking to protect services, precast panels and finished surfaces from overspray. Our controlled application and efficient sequencing allowed the team to maintain productivity within restricted areas while minimising disruption to other trades.
A key challenge was completing the works within a tight construction programme, with significant building services already installed around the structural columns. Restricted access and proximity to completed services required careful planning and a controlled application approach.
Bowsers successfully delivered the works to a high standard of quality, finish and presentation, achieving the required passive fire protection requirements while maintaining a clean and professional site.
