Bowsers has conducted annual maintenance of passive fire rating systems of all UNSW buildings, including repairs, installation and certification of: fire and smoke dampers.
Given the diversity of the buildings, UNSW is a client with varying requirements. Laboratories present potential chemical hazards, lecture theatres have restricted access to ensure learning is not disrupted and the management offices must be sensitively managed.
Through careful planning and diligent workmanship from the Bowsers’ staff, repairs are completed after hours so work locations can be returned for use the next day and without any disruption to the client. Many of the newer buildings are constructed using Performance Solutions (Fire Engineering Reports). Bowsers’ knowledge in this area enabled us to meet the needs and intent of these reports either through our work on site, or the assessment of the site for maintenance purposes.
Bowsers has successfully completed these works since 2003 and continues to support the university moving forward.
