The Sheraton Grand Mirage, a prestigious 5-star beachfront resort on the Gold Coast, required an upgrade to its fire dampers across 284 rooms, 11 suites, service rooms, and resort corridors in preparation for hosting Federation members and officials during the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Bowsers was contracted by Airmaster Australia to complete the work within a stringent 26-week timeframe.

Bowsers replaced all fire dampers in compliance with the relevant Building Codes and Australian Standards, as outlined in the tender specifications.
The project had to be completed within the given timeframe without disrupting the resort’s operations. With occupancy rates consistently above 80%, it was critical to ensure minimal impact on guests and staff.
Strategic planning and coordination with the resort’s reservation and maintenance teams allowed Bowsers to carry out the work with minimal disruption. Noise levels were carefully managed, with construction activities restricted to specific hours to ensure guest comfort.
