Matcham Home, Bushfire Protection Upgrade

MATCHAM Residence, NSW

PROJECT OVERVIEW

With a growing reputation as bushfire protection specialists, Bowsers was engaged to deliver a BAL-FZ bushfire protection upgrade for a residential dwelling in the bushfire-prone suburb of Matcham. The project required a comprehensive solution to achieve a Bushfire Attack Level – Flame Zone (BAL-FZ) rating, the highest level of bushfire protection under Australian Standards.

Services Offered

Bowsers installed the Siniat Weather Defence 2 (WD2) bushfire protection system across key areas of the property to meet BAL-FZ requirements. The scope included the installation of approximately 420m² of WD2 to the roof structure, protection upgrades to the eaves and fascia and protection works to the porch and external deck areas. Bowsers managed and coordinated all installation activities to ensure full compliance with bushfire protection standards.

Solutions Offered

To maintain progress, the Bowsers team implemented a flexible delivery approach, adjusting installation schedules to maximise suitable weather windows and staging works to minimise disruption.

Project Challenges

As with many external construction projects, weather conditions presented a significant challenge throughout the installation program.

Overall Outcome

Our adaptive approach enabled the project to progress safely while minimising delays. The completed works have helped safeguard the home against one of Australia’s most severe environmental risks while providing long-term peace of mind for the property owner.
