Wesley Mission opened Frank Vickery Village Sylvania in 1948 at its current location and has continued its operation ever since. Today, Frank Vickery Village comprises of over 200 one- and two-bedroom low rise units. Following a comprehensive “whole of building” compliance audit performed by one of Bowsers’ highly qualified and experienced auditors, Bowsers’ set about to perform corrective actions and services to enhance safety and full compliance.

Services Offered

Following the inspection of all smoke damper locations within the 4-level building and visual inspection of all ceilings and accessible service penetrations, Bowsers set about to conduct repairs and replacements to bring them up to compliance with the relevant Building Codes and Australian Standards. 

Project Challenges

Given the extensive site inspection and subsequent supporting documentation required, methodical co-ordination was required to access the multiple areas and
seamlessly coordinate technicians to complete the repairs. Bowsers understood the sensitivities of a retirement village and proactively mitigated any inconvenience for the client and residents with clear communication and planning.

Bowsers’ clear and regular communication with all stakeholders underpinned the success of this project. The team regularly communicated with the client before commencing the extensive rectification work and accommodated all requests. The Bowsers team consistently arrived on time and thoroughly cleaned up at the end of all rectification work. The team, which were always professional and respectful, remained flexible and adjusted schedules where needed.

A full and comprehensive 80-page photographic report of all completed work was presented to the client, reaffirming the quality work performed.
