Powerhouse Museum Ultimo is a contemporary museum in the heart of Sydney that houses over 500,000 objects and artefacts. Frequented by hundreds and thousands of visitors, it was imperative Bowsers conducted some much-needed repairs and restoration of the premise.

The scope of works included the repair and re application of light weight vermiculite spray to selected areas, restoring overall integrity.
As this project involved repair and touch up services, a lot of masking up and protection of the area was required. The Bowsers’ fire spray managers worked in a cordoned off area within a live working environment. It was imperative to the project’s success that minimal disruption was made to the occupants. Any impact from the works and materials handling had to be negligible.
Careful planning, thorough coordination, and communication with the client were essential. Vermiculite spray is a highly specialised skill requiring the expertise of Bowsers’ fire spray applicators to ensure minimal disruption. Bowsers’ extensive experience assured the whole process was successfully quarantined from the live operational areas of the museum.
As a result of careful coordination, minimal disruption and outstanding workmanship, Bowsers are in discussions with the client about further works.
